Atal Adarsh Vidyalaya Kitchner Road was established as a primary school. For a long period it was called N P Primary School Kitchner Road. In the mid-seventies, the school was upgraded to a middle school. In 2014 it was upgraded to a Secondary School. Now, this school is running from class nursery to X. At the AAV Kitchner Road, we wish to create an institution par excellence where young minds are ignited with a quest for learning, a spirit of enquiry and scientific temperament. Our aim is to nurture our students as catalysts for change who are not only able to sustain themselves in a competitive world but also lead it without compromising on their values and principles. Our school is a branch of that sprawling NDMC tree which is rooted in ancient Indian Tradition but which reaches out to the sky. Being a part of such an illustrious organization we have a tremendous responsibility.

Atal Adarsh Vidyalaya, Kitchner Road is managed by New Delhi Municipal Council. It is one of the most sought-after Secondary schools of NDMC as it imparts quality education. The school’s vision has always been to “Educate, Enlighten and Empower” for the last many years and has proved to be effective and successful to date. The school which had a humble beginning, today has achieved greater heights with everyone’s hard work and dedication. As we have completed around 60 years of service, what comes to our mind is that “Success comes to those who work hard and stays with those who don’t rest on the laurels of the past.” The world today is changing at an accelerated rate and this has brought a change in the education system as well. The methods, techniques, facilities, etc. adopted today provides a well-balanced approach to ensure that the children of our school will not just love their school years but truly be prepared to face life’s challenges as Margaret Mead has said “Children must be taught how to think, not what to think.”
